it turns out that both fit in the same brain slots as computer janitoring and were easier to add to the routine than my many-years of putting-off-the-very-concept-of-even-trying suggested.

poster dossier update opportunity: Lately I’ve wanted to add a few apps to amethyst’s (the Mac tiling window manager I have used for the past year and a half) float exception list and it doesn’t work afaict (also the menubar icon isn’t always there like it should be?) so I’ve switched to Rectangle ( https://rectangleapp.com), which has its own quirks and is less capable in some ways but meets my needs.
