Oh, hi, I’m gravely. You’ve caught me relaxing on Pizza Slow (high quality)1, my personal website.
I post about new and old media, music, books, food, bicycling and hiking, and San Francisco, where I live.
I’m currently the head of security at Twitch. Before that I did security engineering at Evernote, and before that, at Zynga. But I almost never post about infosec.
I post on Strava, mastodon.social, and Bookwyrm the most lately. Music Assistant posts what I’ve been listening to on last.fm, listenbrainz and libre.fm unless it’s a stream or vinyl.
I’m also on bandcamp, Discogs, Twitch, and LinkedIn (derogatory). Where I can, I try to rehost all of my posts here2 so that I can bail on third parties whenever I want with all of my stuff.
If you’d like to tell me anything, please simply email me at hi@gravely.pizza.
The design began with the 11ty base blog. I tried to not steal too much from https://manuelmoreale.com/, which I think is really pretty, as much as I wanted to, but I started there as inspo, hence, Iowa and the text scaling.
This site was built recently with Eleventy v3.1.6. In the default theme, the headings are set in Millie, text in Iowa, and fine print in Inter. In the generic theme, it’s all just Helvetica. In the tumblr and octopress themes, the headings and fine print are set in Silkscreen and text in Constantia. I’m using Pagefind for search, PhotoSwipe for image galleries, and LeafletJS to embed OpenStreetMap using Stadia map styles.
I use a private Forgejo for soucre control management, continuous (well, daily) integration of Strava, Mastodon, and Bookwyrm posts, and for deployment to AWS where this is all just a bunch of files in an s3 bucket behind cloudfront.
I use Claude in Ghostty and VisualStudio with Claude Pro to computer janitor 11ty and git and Forgejo and AWS. I write the words and design the website.

I’ve been using pizza slow or its chorus, gimme pizza, inspired by the eponymous edit, wherever I find myself needing a message of the day or banner for a while and now I’m kicking it around as a vanity domain. “Put it in (sic) the pizza.” ↩︎

I’ve got stuff from most of my various text updates and blogs3, from running my own PHP, Movable Type, Wordpress, Textpattern (❤️), octopress, and now, Eleventy v3.1.6, even though most of them are pretty embarassing. I also pulled in exports from now-deleted Facebook4, Twitter5, Tumblr6, Instagram7, Path8, and Vimeo9 accounts. And every day, automation pulls in posts from my Strava10, Mastodon11, and Bookwyrm12 and re-hosts it here. ↩︎
