Full screen Safari needs more love. A Macbook Air running OS X Lion with all apps full screened and navigated using swipe gestures really is the bee’s knee’s and Safari is the last non-chat app that I use that doesn’t conform well.

I’d like to see nothing but the website in full screen mode. Naively, I tried to hide the toolbar with ⌘-| but nothing happened. The menubar’s View -> Hide Toolbar is also disabled.

But, the toolbar’s Hide Toolbar context (right click) menu isn’t disabled and works as expected.

But, after hiding the toolbar, there’s nowhere to right click to get it back. And ⌘-L, which makes the toolbar reappear briefly to accept commands in a the windowed Safari.app, doesn’t make the toolbar show up either. So, if you want to go on to the next thing, you have to literally exit full screen mode first.

Full screen in Safari should actually be full bleed. All chrome should disappear. Welp,
