Franklin’s lectures are no less relevant in 2025 than they were when she added the final three chapters in 1999 to texts delivered as lectures in 1989 conceived as early as in the 1970s with respect to a a gem of fascinating sets of dialectics regarding what she calls the real world of technology. Holistic and prescriptive work, planners and planees, environment and nature, liberation and exploitation, time and space.
I grabbed behind-the-stage "cheap seats” for a friend and I at the last minute after watching a video of them at the Blue Note in Tokyo ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX9x8ibuwok ) and it is very representative of the show. I grabbed a record on the way out.
Won’t cve just be instantly replaced with nearly-as-good systems that prop up resistance to calls to action, arbitrage that is hidden from most but burdens all, and discloser/disclosee story-changing quicksand full of synecdoche and misdirection?
